Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League Player Movement Policy
Effective July 29, 2024
Player Movement Philosophy
The Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League (CJSL) prioritizes the development of our players and strives to create the best possible environments for their growth. Our Player Movement Guidelines are designed to ensure transparency for players, families, clubs, and leagues, fostering an atmosphere of trust and clarity.

We believe in putting the player first, empowering them to make informed decisions about their soccer development. Our guidelines are crafted to ensure that players are aware of all available pathways, allowing them to choose the one that best aligns with their needs and ambitions. Additionally, these guidelines help clubs guide and safeguard player choices effectively.

Our Player Movement Guidelines emphasize the importance of stability in a player's development environment. Players are encouraged to spend at least half of the season in the same environment, as consistency is crucial for their growth and development.

By adhering to these principles, the Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League aims to support and nurture the aspirations of our players, ensuring they have the best opportunities to succeed and thrive in their soccer journeys.
Overview
The following player movement policy is effective for 2024-2025 Season.

Once registered in gotsport and paid for by the club, players are committed to their clubs for the entire CJSL 24/25 season, with the following exceptions as outlined below.

1. A player may change clubs during the season if (1) CJSL approves the move; and (2) the move is made during the Open Player Transfer Window
Clubs must engage in open, transparent, and respectful communication during all Player Movement communications or exchanges, including the following:

-
Written (email) communication between clubs is required for all in-season movement.
-
The requesting club must contact the player's current club before there is any communication with the player or their parent/guardian.
-
A player release form must be filled out by the new club and approved by the existing club during the player movement period.
-
CJSL reserves the right to intervene at any time during the CJSL Player Movement Period.
Clubs can report any disputes or violations of the Player Movement Guidelines to CJSL: dimitried@cjslsoccer.com
2. During the season, CJSL at its sole and absolute discretion-may grant a player's request to leave their current CJSL Club and register with a different club outside of the Player Movement Period under certain special circumstances:
-
Player development and lack of playing time is proven
-
Relationship between player and club is proven to be negative where the player is not included in games, tournaments, training sessions.
No Player release will be granted if a player has a financial obligation to the current club that has not been fulfilled (ex. tuition dues, uniform dues, tournament dues, etc) or if the player leaving the current club causes the current club to not have insufficient number of players to field a team for games.
