The Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League (CJSL) is one of the oldest youth soccer leagues in the United States, founded in 1933. CJSL is affiliated with ENYYSA (Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association) and US Youth Soccer, and serves clubs throughout New York City and surrounding areas.
CJSL provides elite travel, developmental, and girls-only competition pathways, with a strong emphasis on competitive balance, player development, referee respect, and administrative compliance.

Weekend Games from Mid-December through early March
Outdoor matches, weather permitting, played primarily at Randall’s Island, Queens, and Brooklyn (clubs may offer to host at their home field)

CJSL operates on a seasonal basis, offering Fall, Spring, D-League (4v4), and Winter playing opportunities throughout the year.
CJSL Elite Travel & Girls City League
Fall Season
Runs from September through mid-December
Teams typically play 8–10 league games
Matches are scheduled primarily on weekends
Spring Season
Runs from late March through early June
Teams typically play 8–10 league games

Game totals may vary slightly by age group, division, field availability, and weather-related rescheduling.
CJSL D-League / 4v4 Developmental Program
Designed for U7–U8 boys and girls
Consists of 4 play-day events
Play days are spread out over approximately 3 months
Set event dates rather than weekly matches
No standings or scores recorded
CJSL Winter Season
Runs from mid-December through early March
Offered as a winter outdoor competition option
Supported in partnership with Juventus Soccer Academy
Schedules and game counts vary by program and age group
CJSL schedules are structured to support player development, consistent competition, and seasonal field availability across all programs.

Player Registration Fees
$26 per player – CJSL / ENYYSA / US Youth Soccer carding & insurance
$10 per player – Recreational / developmental carding (when applicable)
Players must be registered and carded in the correct CJSL carding event in GotSport before participating in any match.
Coach Registration & Compliance Requirements
There is no fee to add or register coaches in GotSport
Coaches must complete the following four required compliance items (fees may apply through providers):
Background Check
SafeSport Training
CDC Heads Up Concussion Training
Minimum U.S. Soccer Grassroots Coaching License
Non-compliant coaches will not be approved and will not appear on match-day rosters.

Referees are assigned for all CJSL matches.
Match formats:
7v7 & 9v9: 1 referee
11v11: 3-person referee crew
Official referee fee schedules must be followed:

Each team is responsible for half of the referee fee
Referees are paid on match day
Failure to pay referees will result in a forfeit, fines and disciplinary action

Clubs must ensure:
Printed official match-day roster (2 Hard Copies) 1 to be given to the Referee and the other to the Opponent prior to the start of the match. No Digital Rosters allowed.
Only properly registered and approved players and coaches that are on the roster can be on the sideline. No Handwritten players allowed.
