Uniforms & Player Equipment
All players must be properly equipped, clearly identifiable, and safely dressed for participation in CJSL matches. All equipment is subject to referee approval.
Uniform Requirements
- All players must wear identical uniforms (except goalkeeper).
- Uniform includes jersey, shorts, socks, and mandatory shin guards.
- Soccer cleats or turf shoes are mandatory for outdoor play.
- Players not in proper uniform may be ordered off the field.
Flat sneakers (indoor-style shoes) are not recommended for outdoor matches.
The referee may remove any player whose attire (hats, gloves, snoods, etc.) could cause confusion or unsafe play.
Jersey & Identification Rules
Unique Numbers
Each player must have a unique, clearly visible number on the back.
Two Sets Required
Teams must bring both light and dark jerseys to every match.
Color Responsibility
Home team must change if colors conflict. No penalty for time lost.
Logos
Only approved club, league, and appropriate sponsor logos allowed.
Goalkeeper & Equipment
- Goalkeeper must wear a clearly different color from both teams and referee.
- All players must wear matching socks.
- No jewelry is allowed for any player.
- Piercings (including earrings) must be removed prior to play.
- Medical alert items are only permitted if securely taped to the body.
Player Footwear (Outdoor)
Approved
- Soccer cleats (molded rubber or plastic)
- Turf shoes
Not Allowed
- Metal cleats
- Toe-stud cleats (baseball/football)
- Shoes with sharp or unsafe edges
All footwear must be worn with mandatory shin guards.
Player Eyewear
Allowed
- Sports glasses (flexible frames)
- Sport goggles
- Contact lenses
Not Allowed
- Rigid frame glasses
Referee Authority & Compliance
Final Decision
The referee has full authority to determine if any uniform, equipment, footwear, or eyewear is safe and compliant.
Teams that fail to comply may result in players being removed, match delays, fines, or forfeits.
