LIJSL and CJSL Unite to Promote the Liberty Cup

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New York, NY – The Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League (CJSL) and the Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL) are proud to announce a collaborative partnership aimed at supporting and growing the Liberty Cup, creating new opportunities for players, coaches, clubs, and families throughout the region.

This joint initiative reflects a shared commitment by both leagues to provide meaningful competition, foster player development, and strengthen the youth soccer landscape across New York City, Long Island, and the surrounding communities.

The Liberty Cup has become an important platform for teams seeking high-quality competition while promoting sportsmanship, player development, and community engagement. Through this collaboration, CJSL and LIJSL will work together to increase awareness, participation, and overall exposure for the competition, ensuring an exceptional experience for all participating clubs.

Dimitrie Draguca, League Director of the Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership:

The Liberty Cup has long represented what is best about youth soccer—bringing clubs together, creating meaningful competition, and providing memorable experiences for players and families.

What makes this partnership especially meaningful is that CJSL has a long history with the Liberty Cup. Fifteen to twenty years ago, our league helped support and promote the event, recognizing the value it brought to clubs, players, coaches, and families throughout the region. It is exciting to see that relationship renewed and strengthened today.

By working together with LIJSL, we can continue building on that foundation, create even more opportunities for our clubs, and ensure that the Liberty Cup remains a premier experience for youth soccer players across New York. At the end of the day, this is about growing the game, strengthening our soccer community, and providing greater opportunities for the players we serve.

Ronan Wiseman, Technical Director of the Long Island Junior Soccer League, echoed those sentiments:

“The partnership between LIJSL and CJSL demonstrates what can be accomplished when organizations come together with a shared vision for the game. The Liberty Cup provides an outstanding environment for player development and competition, and we are excited to work alongside our colleagues at CJSL to expand its reach and impact. Together, we can create even more opportunities for players and clubs to thrive.”

The collaboration underscores both leagues’ dedication to cooperation, innovation, and the continued growth of youth soccer. By leveraging the strengths and resources of both organizations, the Liberty Cup is positioned to become one of the premier competitive events in the region.
