CJSL and NYCFC Team Up to Offer Coaches Clinic in Queens
The Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League (CJSL) is continuing its commitment to fostering strong coach development by supporting supplemental education opportunities for our clubs. We’re pleased to share details of an upcoming NYCFC Youth Soccer Partners Coaches Clinic, open to all CJSL coaches, taking place on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Queens College in Flushing.
This two-hour clinic—led by NYCFC’s Youth Programs staff—will introduce participating coaches to the City Play Model, NYCFC’s approach to designing and delivering age-appropriate training sessions. In addition to observing how practices are structured, coaches will have the opportunity to participate in on-field activities, ask questions, and gain new tools to bring back to their teams.
“Our league is proud to support educational experiences like this,” said Dimitrie Draguca, CJSL League Director. “They give our coaches valuable insight into methodologies from professional clubs, helping them refine their approach to player development.”
While the CJSL provides official coaching education programs through U.S. Soccer and Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association, clinics like this one offer an important complement to those efforts.
“These supplemental clinics add another layer of growth for our coaches,” said Darren Marshall, CJSL Director of Education. “By experiencing different coaching models like NYCFC’s, our community continues to evolve and strengthen.”
The clinic will begin with check-in at 6:00 p.m., with the session running from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Coaches are encouraged to dress in comfortable soccer attire, bring shin guards, water, and something to take notes with. Participation on the field is encouraged.
